Gay Rights and Job Discrimination in the Workplace

Often people ask, "What's so important about gay rights?" What many people do not know is that in many states, it is still perfectly legal to discriminate against gays and lesbians. Although the U.S. may pride itself on protecting the civil liberties of it's citizens, in most cases gays are not protected by these laws. This extends much further than the matter of civil unions and gay adoption. Gays and lesbians ought to be aware that in many states there are no laws protecting them against discrimination in the workplace.
